A lively Leithers landmark pub, with ships' flags, nautical decor and loyal regulars, bar snacks.

A busy traditional style pub . Good low level background music, pleasant atmosphere.
Genuinely still in shock at how aggressive and rude the manager at this establishment was to me and my family. We have just moved in to the area and absolutely love it, everywhere we have been everyone has been so welcoming and kind. Our group consisted of 3 couples and after getting served at the bar from the very pleasant lady behind the bar the manager came over poured our drinks out and said we weren’t getting served, when I asked the lady who served me what the issue was she had no idea. Then on walking out the pub he came running out behind us being super aggressive. We all still bewildered at what went on and how weird and unhinged our experience was at the Port O Leith. It’s a massive let down to the area and doesn’t fit in with all the other fantastic warm and friendly pubs in Leith.
Didn't eat here but had a few drinks. The staff were friendly and went round cleaning up regularly. There's a good range of beers and ales and a vast amount of spirits to suit any taste. Comfy and quirky inside and a seating area outside. Well worth a visit. One caveat is a sign of the gentrification of Leith. I can confirm I heard a conversation that included the phrase, "My problem with LA is..."!! with a Scottish accent...Aye right then b aw b ag...!! Don't let that put you off though. It's a great wee bar. 🍻 Oh! And it's dog friendly...or 'Let's yir dug in' if you want to avoid gentrification accusations...
I had the absolute pleasure of gracing this establishment on a vibrant Saturday night, and let me tell you, the bar owner has truly mastered the art of curating an extraordinary evening. The melodic choices of music are a refreshing departure from the mundane tunes that inundate every nook and cranny of this town. And oh, the cherry on top! As the night draws to a close, the bar owner ingeniously unleashes a handful of timeless classics that effortlessly whisk away the merry patrons, leaving behind an air of contentment and a testament to their seasoned expertise in handling an exuberant and inebriated crowd. Oh, and did I mention its prime location right on the tram line? You might just luck out and find yourself stepping into this haven of delights in no time at all!
Great local pub with friendly stuff and great drinks. Got to know the owner: cool guy who played Born Slippy for me, the classic Trainspotting song from Underworld which story played in Leith. Really enjoyed our stay.
