About us

Leather sofas and loose seating provide a comfortable environment and zoned music, which is quieter in some areas, offer you a relaxed atmosphere for a quiet drink alone or with friends. We get a nice mixture of young and old making the most of the laid back atmosphere. Since becoming a Pizza Kitchen & Bar in 2013 we now serve 100% fresh dough pizzas prepared in front of you in our open kitchen and pizza oven. As well as this fantastic new 'Pizza Kitchen & Bar' menu, we also serve the best cocktails in town. With something for everyone, The Podger is an informal pub with friendly staff, great for the whole family. Why not come along and see us soon.

Myself and a friend met at the Podger for food and drinks. We were given a warm welcome by the bar staff who helped us choose the best place to sit for our needs. Ordering the food was made easy and and we were given choice on how we wanted our food cooked We were amazed by the quality of the food for the price we paid. All the staff were polite and helpful and I would our visit 5***** and will be going back soon Well done to all the staff and Management at the Podger

First time visiting and won't be my last. The interior was bright and cheerful and the staff friendly and helpful. We were there at the height of the lunch rush yet service was of a timely manner and the food couldn't be faulted. There's plenty of parking, step free access for those needing it and they still do a golden years menu which many others have stopped doing so a definite win win all round. 👍

Just been for dinner at The Podger to celebrate my dad's birthday. Mum and dad had fish and chips and I had surf and turf. I can really say we weren't disappointed my steak was very tender and tasty. Their fish and chips was so big neither could finish the chips. I only live around the corner and never eaten there before. I definitely will be going again, but this time with my husband.

Love this place! A large group of us were staying at a house nearby and we called the Podger to see if we could get a takeaway for us all. They were SO helpful and friendly, even though they were super busy they made sure all our food was ready for us. Even calling us back to see what sauces we would like to go with our meals. Everything was labelled up for us. They couldn't have been more helpful. The food was excellent! I would totally recommend this pub, they're a great team, this sort of customer service is rare. Superb!

Not been in this pub for years, the food were good,staff very friendly. We booked a table as it said dog friendly online so sent an email to be seated where possible with a dog. on arrival we decided to sit outside as it was lovely weather but when the food came we were getting attacked by wasps so took our food to the first table inside (closest to the door) a man came over to tell me dogs are no longer allowed, but was friendly enough and let us finish our meal. I’d checked online before coming and everywhere said this pub were dog friendly but they’d unfortunately forgot to update the website. I’ll definitely return, just without the dog next time😃
