On the site of the old Berkeley Castle pub, the Pipe & Slippers has been serving the Stokes Croft area – and further afield – since 2004. It’s standing in the community was immediate and it’s only grown in popularity, reputation and notoriety with locals and visitors alike.
With high ceilings, dark wood finishing and sympathetic warm lighting, there’s a down-to-earth homely feel despite its status as one of the area’s finest late night bars. Serving an array of local and premium beers, ciders, spirits and cocktails to satisfy all tastes and whims, as well as delicious food all week and DJ’s on the weekend – you can find yourself at home at any time; whether it’s by our roaring fireplace midweek or on top of the tables on the weekend….
Great roast! The lamb was delicious, my partner got the mixed and the pork was overcooked and slightly burnt on one end, which is the reason for the 4 instead of 5. Everything else was yummy though and the staff were lovely and even made us some cocktails that weren’t on the menu. Good value, nice roast :)
Beauts Sunday roast for my birthday !!! Tushi’s roasts are some of the best around bris, portion sizes are generous and it all tasted so good! Service is so attentive, Lara and Sam looked after our table so well, such a great team here. X
Me and my boyfriend came here this Sunday and had a lovely meal. The lovely waitresses were so kind and helpful. Refreshing to be at a pub with such a relaxed environment.
Very tasty Sunday roast on a calm atmosphere. We ordered lamb, chicken and veggie roasts and all were delicious, with vegetables and cripsy roasted potatoes. The meat was very tender, particularly the lamb which combined perfectly with the mint sauce. I was happy to see they had a good selection of beers, including low and no alcohol (Clear head my favourite). The pub had a very nice vibe with a couple more tables but was quiet enough to allow conversation. The staff was welcoming and explained the menu and offered dessert, but unfortunately we were too full to try. Next time! Because we are coming back for sure.
The ambiance is great and it has a nice vibe to it. However, the music is a bit too loud for conversation. The food was okay. The burger was a bit on salty side but the fries were delicious. The staff is okay, they seem to be lost in their own world.
