Stayed a weekend when the weather was very cold, Good size rooms also nice an warm in the rooms. Good customer service, friendly staff, decent breakfast Only thing Iād suggest is to change the mattress.
Very poor. On arrival they lost our one night booking. They did find a room for us. It was horrendous the net curtain was hanging down. 2 small hand towels in the tiny shower. There was no cup on the tea tray. I did have to ask for more towels and cup with was given to me. The bar closed at 10pm on a Saturday night. On the Sunday morning arrived for breakfast to find domestics service breakfast as a chef and waitress had not come in for shift. When checking out no one at reception desk I had to leave keys on desk. It was horrendous
We visited here for one night a week apart on the way to and from our Glencoe holiday. The Friday night on the way up was good. Room 1 is nice, although the toilet had some issues, starts making noises randomly. The room was clean, smelt fresh and was well ventilated as it was quite hot that day. The bed is not very comfy, it could do with a new mattress. The 2nd time we stayed was a bit chilly and tried the radiator, which was really noisy and only got warm at the bottom. So abandoned that and used the heater on low which took the chill off. Breakfast was nice, we were the only ones there and the Chef did us an extra sausage for our dog. Very nice touch š On the way back was a Saturday night, they had a party of 20 odd in, which the Manager had not told his staff about, so this resulted in the House keeping lady helping with breakfast. We still waited nearly an hour to get our breakfast and even a drink. Not their fault, there was 2 of them trying to cope with 28 people for breakfast. But the breakfast was again nice and everything was hot. Might stay again, but management need to be better prepared for the amount of guests.
I stayed here two years ago, found it a bit shabby but clean, quiet and quaint with friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay, so booked again. This time around I am not impressed- either other guests or possibly staff were having a "discussion" at the tops of their voices for hours in end in the middle of the night. No sleep tonight no matter how comfy the bed. Shame, as the room is again comfy- though shabby- and the one staff member I met was excellent.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfasts were OK. The hotel is very handy for the city centre and getting out to the motorway. Unfortunately the walls of the building are thin. I had two disrupted nights sleep due to all night snoring from the next room.
