Just as the whole town once gathered in the gorgeous King's Cinema on Hume Street, now The Picture House attracts a broad cross-section of Montrose residents into its high-ceilinged interior. With light fittings that look like giant upturned ice-cream cones and decorative clapperboards, projectors and movie reels all round the tall bar, the pub pays homage to its origins while offering its customers a 21st-century welcome. Pleasing everyone from breakfasters to morning coffee drinkers, hungry families, curious tourists, sports fans, music lovers and weekend revellers, this is a pub that keeps all comers in the picture.

Had Christmas dinner here this year. The food was cooked beautifully, the turkey was so juicy and the portions were a good size (put it this way, I went away very full and couldn’t hardly move lol) The service was great, didn’t feel rushed, the staff were all so friendly, chatty and made us all feel welcome and special, so thank you for that ( as it was our first Christmas living in Scotland) The atmosphere was nice and relaxed with good selection of Christmas tunes playing in the background. I will be back again next year. Thank you again for a lovely, welcoming meal.
The best place in Montrose! I had a quick lunch here. The food was delicious, huge portions worth the price. Perfect service during really busy time. I cannot recommend you to come here more 😊
Went for lunch yesterday with friends, good food, service was good, because we weren't getting good signal we couldn't order at table, not problem just went bar ordered what we wanted. My only criticism was the tartare sauce tasted strange, couldn't eat it. Great place for families. Kids portion was really big, we had fish and chips, scampi and chips, lasagna garlic bread, kids tomato pasta, portion cheesy garlic bread and onion rings plus kids meal they get pudding so chocolate icecream.
Absolutely the best place in Montrose to eat something delicious! Very nice service, short waiting time and very nice decor. recommend 5 small plates of snacks for £19 (Thursdays). Insanely good!
Well .. I am from Edinburgh and expect to pay good money for good service. While in Montrose Picture House I paid next to nothing for excellent service. I always use the ordering app so never have to wait at the bar. Whilst in the picture house I did not wait any longer than five minutes from ordering to the order arriviat my table .... Service excellent Staff very friendly... Kayleigh awesome.... Prices unbelievably cheap... The two young idiots sitting at the next table made fun of the staff and thought they were funny making spoof bad reviews... Rhodri Colledge and Mitchell Clark are a pair of spoilt brats who make a hobby out if giving bad reviews. Both of them cleaned their plates and emptied their glasses ... I have visited many Greene King establishments and I can assure you that the picture house is up there with the best of them... Well done Picture House
