The Pickerel is one of the oldest pubs in Cambridge and is situated on the picturesque Magdalene Street. We're just a stroll up from the river and within walking distance of the colleges in the city centre.
We’re proud to say our menu is packed with Great British pub food classics, including iconic dishes like our hand-battered fish and chips, pie and mash and succulent burgers. Our drinks include a great range of real ales and an extensive wine list. Our cask ales range has some of the best in British beers, including the new 1730, our very own special pale ale. The team at the Pickerel look forward to welcoming you soon at this fantastic traditional pub in Cambridge.
It's a lovely pub with a great atmosphere but quite expensive with the fish & chips not as good as I had hoped for. I would recommend a visit, though, just for the atmosphere and the selection of hand-pulled ales.
Nice pub for a great time with friends. Staff was super nice and attentative.
A lovely pub, had the special mussels which was delicious, service at both the the bar and table was amazing and lovely staff, fantastic selection of beer! One of the most ‘pub’ feeling pubs I’ve ever been to, and the staff were happy to tell me lots about the history of the building and the ghost stories! Would highly recommend!
Didnt eat so I can't comment on the food. Came in with a few friends and played taboo, one of the board games available there. I had a great time and there was a brilliant and cozy feel to the pub itself, as well as a great smoking/outside area.
Been going to this pub for the last 20 years oldest Pub in Cambridge, Bit of background history as well, just near Cambridge Punt company, Nice little layout of the pub, super friendly staff, even if you’re local or not the manager, Carl Will make you feel very welcome. Five star service from him every day. Big garden and also undercover just in case it rains. The food is good, but only as it’s Pub Grub Great selection of beers and snacks the only thing is annoying about it is there’s no football in there. Apart from that 10 out of 10 For keeping it nice and warm in there over winter time.!!!
