A lovely and VERY dog friendly hotel in a great area. The (dog friendly) rooms are very cozy and clean. I highly recommend staying for dinner because the food was delicious!! Friendly staff and nice areas for long dog walks to come back to a cup of tea by the fire. Would love to come back again!

Edited to reflect my entire stay rather than one specific part. The staff at The Meikleour Arms are attentive and friendly, a real asset to the business. Our room was spotless, well appointed and comfortable. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner, with quality fresh ingredients cooked well and delivered with a smile from the front of house team. There was an issue on the first night where we were told that it was too late to light the fire in the guest lounge at 9:50pm, that was disappointing and did spoil the evening to some degree. On the second night the fire was roaring and we had some drinks and a game of dominoes, a much better atmosphere. We have stated twice before, but not for a few years and there were far more dogs around the public areas this time. Great for dog lovers - but if you’re less keen or have allergies then it’s worth bearing that in mind. Overall, an enjoyable winters weekend.

Out of very sad times comes light. Just brilliant all round ..... Unfortunately, the night before we were due to arrive at the Meikleour Arms, Flynn, our brilliant old golden retriever, deteriorated very quickly and instead of travelling to the hotel in the morning we wept our hearts out as he was put to sleep. As we waited for the deed to be done, I contacted the hotel and Hollie could not have been nicer. Instead of losing our booking she moved our reservations for two days later which was exactly what we needed to get away from the now very empty house. Our stay in one of the stables cottages was fabulous. The standard of the accommodation and the main hotel, the food, the drink, the lovely walks in the estate were all excellent. However, the best thing of all was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and responsive and they make the place what it is. We can all think of hotels or restaurants where miserable staff spoil the whole experience. Of course, a special mention for Hollie! Our only regret is that we didn't discover this place when Flynn was at his charming and mischievous best. He would have loved every bit of it.

Lovely lunch here. Both opted for fish and it was perfect. Dessert was good too. Great they allowed our old lab to sit under the table. Will be back.
