Friendly staff and even better beer
The Penny Black is local and family-friendly pub. We are well-known as "The Penny" to our local customers. We often show live football, especially when it comes to our local team Middlesbrough. We also have a pool table. This is an ideal place for regular live entertainment and bar games.

Myself and my sister had food here early evening. We both had the rump steak which was amazing, perfectly cooked and succulent. All the food was hot with plenty of it. Service was first class and the staff were so warm and friendly, very reasonable prices too, will definitely be making this a regular eating place. Great work!
I went to The Penny Black for the first time the other week. It is a pub located within a housing estate so not everyone knows about it. We got the large Sunday dinner which is £12.50 by memory, they also have the regular sized dinner £10 I think. The food itself was pretty good, I would probably go back there again.

Very nice food at a reasonable price In my opinion much better than an over priced pretentious posh place Chef is very personable and clearly takes a pride in his cooking Staff are very welcoming My favourite local pub for food.
