A true free house opposite the site of the old Accrington Stanley football ground, still used by Peel Park FC. Six beers are sold mainly from smaller breweries. The warm and welcoming main bar is divided into split level front and rear sections. There is a separate small pool room, and a smart rear room used for functions and meetings. Outside there is a pleasant garden area to the side of the pub.
Well worth a visit, great cask beer selection and enjoyable food for lunch prior to our game at Accrington Stanley football club. 🏴 ⚽
There was 6 of us from around the county, and we were all very impressed with everything, clean and well looked after pub for a traditional beer, bar staff excellent, and a very good friendly atmosphere, great night out, will return in the near future.
First time in the place for a long time. Made very welcome. A bit on the steep side for half of cola. Thought I was buying the pub. It's not a pub on the circuit ( pub crawl ). It was a Sunday afternoon, so I don't know what it's like on other days.
Beautiful location... However although they say dog friendly and have a massive blind dog support charity box, they would not allow my husband's dog to sit next to him on a seat. She had to sit on the floor were she and he felt unprotected. My husband is partially sighted.
An outstanding hostelry to visit after a soaking at Accrington v County. Great beer chatty bar staff. Sadness was we had to forshorten our stay to get back. Highly recommended.
