Affectionately and more simply known as The Peartree, we're an Edinburgh pub with a huge beer garden, great cask ales and a long history.

I only gave 5 stars for the Christmasy atmosphere. Other than that the food deserves 2 stars and this is only because the curly fries were nice. We ordered chicken wings with hot sauce only to arrive incredible dry and cold! It felt like they were cooked a day before and re heated for us. The staff was nice and offered to bring fresh cooked ones only to be exactly the same dry meat taste. Over cooked and no flavour at all. The burger meat was dry as well. We were 6 adults and 4 kids who ate and no I cannot recommend this place for delicious food, when you talk about basic dishes you'll find in a bistro pub. They need to change their chef of pay him more!
Great place. Highly recommended. Atmosphere.
This is a great place to watch sport if the weather is good; large beer garden at the front of the entrance to the pub with a giant TV and nice atmosphere when busy, as it usually is when the weather is good. The beer on offer is decent, with plenty of non-alcoholic drinks available too. The fish and chips is superb. One of the best I’ve had in Edinburgh. The rest of the items on the menu is what you would expect from a pub. Personally didn’t think anything looked as good as the fish and chips but may be wrong here. If you fancy a ‘chippy’ while basking in the sun and watching sport then this is the place for you. Even if sport and sun isn’t your thing, I’d say it’s worth it just for the fish and chips.
Great place, recommended for families. Drinks were lovely, food beautiful. One staff member was very miserable and commented on a dog nearby that shouldn’t be in the pub beer garden. The dog was no bother. The way she spoke to the people wasn’t the best, she was also very miserable when serving. Apart from that everything was great!
Drank here to watch England beat Australia in the world cup semi-final. Too few staff behind the bar making the queue massive, often out of the door. This just meant we drank less as it put you off joining the end and having to wait so long to get served. But the venue was awesome. Huge screen. Excellent atmosphere.
