Been a few times for lunch with my mum. Always have the 2 meals for £10.99, and they're a bargain, tried most over the time, all really nice, and generous portions, not finished one yet!

We came for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago when we visited my step daughter at uni for the 1st time. We needed somewhere local to her as I am in a leg cast & relying on a frame to get around! Definitely not disappointed!!! Beautiful sunday lunch for 2 at an amazing price plus a whale & chips for daugter. Service was fab. Lady on the bar so helpful with seats, drinks & finding food menu. Lady serving straight back with extra gravy. Atmosphere safe & comfortable. We couldn't have been happier. Well done!!!

Im so sad to be writing such a negative review about the peacock as im a regular there but the meal my partner and i have just had was disgusting! We chose a turkey sunday roast and a chicken and bacon salad with a side of cheesy garlic bread. We were told by the lady serving us that it could be upto half an hour wait, no problem. An hour and 10 minutes later they finally sent out our food (after only sending out 3 other plates to other people waiting in that time) and the roast dinner was about the size of a childs plate, my chicken and bacon salad was disgusting! The salad tasted old and dirty (the cucumber was going off) there was no tomato or red pepper (as advertised) the chicken was cold and also burnt black in places and the bacon was a strange colour and smelt funny. Not only that the cheesey garlic bread was burnt on one side and not even remotely toasted on the other! There was no explination as to why the food was so late and in such a bad state. Also other people were complaining their meals were cold and sending it back to be microwaved! Feel very let down and actually have no inclination to return for a meal again even though we come here quite often. Such a shame as this use to be a great place for meals.

Came in for lunch and got the chicken and bacon salad, it was beautiful. Service was quick, officiant and polite, lovely and friendly atmosphere. First time trying this dish and I would 100% order again. The staff on shift in the kitchen was lil :)

I live locally meal wasn't to bad but having someone change there babies nappy on the dining room floor really put me off even told member of staff and she did nothing disgusting
