Nice friendly place, good drink prices, nice atmosphere.
I visited here for a 30th birthday last Friday. Not a bad space but it definitely needs a good clean, especially the toilets. The bar in all honesty was a joke, the spirits tasted awful. Always poured on the other side(members side) of the bar where you can't see what's poured even though they had the spirits on the function room side. We had to keep taking the drinks back as they tasted awful and after the 5th time when we hadn't even walked away from the bar with the drinks the bar staff got very arsey saying they wouldn't change the drinks and this is the point where they decided to stop serving multiple people, even though this wasn't an issue on the customers behalf. This was an issue with the bar staff who had an attitude from the start of the night. Overall I would never recommend or attend another party or event at this room again.
Booked for my partners 30th, I paid £100 deposit and £150 for the room. The room is big and that’s a positive and you do get your deposit back under conditions. Now, I did not read the ‘services’ part (that’s on me) so I did not realise until the end that at the end of the night to get my deposit we had to put all the tables and chairs back away! Personally I’ve never had to do that anywhere before and I probably wouldn’t have booked had I read it! Tensions did run high over this with people as after a good few drinks down everyone, no one wants to be carrying chairs and tables back but again I didn’t read it which I should of - so do bare that in mind when booking! Does have a kitchen to use which is handy but I did find it wasn’t very clean in there if I’m honest. Throughout booking I did get good communication with Cheryl for any questions I asked - she emailed me back quickly.
We had our brothers 30th there on Friday 20th October. Only 2 members of staff on the bar one of which could not do anymore than one drink at a time. But the most frustrating thing was trying to get our deposit back. I have been to many social clubs and never known where you have to tidy the whole room up after your event including sweeping the floor. Spoils the night, we were told on the night that these were in the terms and conditions. Thought this was pathetic. Also this caused tensions to run high in which members of the club were sent behind the bar to try and intimidate us including one lad that looked like he was wired out of his face. This didn't work, luckilly there was one member who was very sensible and helped the situation. My brothers girlfriend who booked it was made to go in the bar on her own to get her deposit back. I have since found out the kitchen was not fit for purpose, not clean, none of the baking trays were clean. Just put a real dampner on the night. Certainly won't be going back.
We got married abroad and wanted a Space to celebrate with all our family and friends. We picked this place for the size and it didn't dissapoint. They let us use there own chair covers and table cloths at no extra charge. The bar was fully stocked and staff was amazing. I would highly reccomend booking this venue for functions, its a brilliant space with welcoming polite and friendly staff.
