This was a surprise birthday treat from my sister , however room we were showed first smelt of damp and smelt funny , was shown another room , was better but not the best . Food was fantastic and very friendly people who worked there too . Prob wouldn’t visit again

Please don’t make the mistake that my Nan did in not reading the reviews before coming here. We stayed for 2 nights. The moment we walked into the room, it gave me anxiety. The room is not the best in terms of cleanliness and feels like a mismatch of character. I felt like I couldn’t even walk around in my socks let alone bare foot. The room has a damp smell although it goes away once the windows are opened. Definitely not as bad as other reviews have stated. Although both of us woke up with a congested cough in the morning both days. Breakfast is okay. If you want a home away from home with cereal, toast and a sub par English breakfast you’ll be fine. Especially if you like your egg over cooked. We ate it as we were hungry, it’s not the worst thing I could have ate but I think Greggs breakfast may take your fancy instead. Don’t be mislead if you are staying here for convenience of being close to Witney town centre as it is still about 12-15 minute walk + multiple crossings adding to your time as many people will not let you cross over. To get to the main town centre involves a hill gradient which is not accessible at all. Uneven, bumpy and unsafe. This did not come into rating the hotel but it is something to note. They managed to squeeze us in for dinner on a Saturday night which i applause them for and we were not disappointed by their restaurant food. I just question where they have done wrong to leave their rooms in such disrepair. The pillows in the room are too soft meaning you have no support for your neck. Please do not take this lightly because I tell you, every day I woke up with a bad neck that I had to take paracetamol. The mat in room 5 is a hazard, it was laid landscape but we moved it portrait as it is lifted massively in the corner leading to one of us falling over. Not sure what theme they were going for with the mat. Good effort from the hotel, but I won’t be back. I got to sleep eventually and that’s the main part of staying in a hotel soo if you don’t mind the comfort aspect by all means book.

Do not stay in room 11. Very cold and very damp with extensive mould in the shower area and a rotting wooden ledge at the base of the shower tray. Toilet seat also broken and the shower hit and miss as to whether it was luke warm or hot. No shelves to put anything on so sponge bag ended up on the floor. I asked to change rooms but was told they were fully booked and was given a heater for the room. Also an extremely loose electrical socket under the TV. This room is seriously not fit for purpose. Cooked breakfast was good and it was a great location for where I was going but I will not be booking there again. A shame as it has potential if money was spent on it.

My partner and I went to the royal air show then came to this hotel for the night. We were greeted beautifully, he helped us up the room carrying the suitcase. Room had a lovely four poster bed, had everything we needed. We then had an amazing supper!! Couldn’t have asked for any better. Breakfast this morning was lovely. Thank you so much!!

We didn't stay in the Hotel we came for the Ghurka Restaurant. Newly refurbished, Large bar, (sadly no Ale on tap) dining room seating around 50 and there's also a cosy relaxing lounge. The menu was averagely priced, quite extensive, but we chose the Nepalese option - which was excellent. Tuesday evening at 7pm was very quiet, but we think that's no bad thing.
