A proper pub, offering well-kept beer, honest pub food and a warm welcome.
Thame is a lovely English market town with The James Figg at the heart of it. The English pub, with the tradition of drink, socialising and simple, satisfying, honest pub food. Our pub offers a fantastic open fire for those cold wintery days, going well with a nice warming bottle of red wine, also offering a fantastic beer garden set behind the stables, an idyllic space perfect for lazing on sunny afternoons with a pint in hand or a nice chilled bottle of wine. A great pub is at the heart of every great community and we really hope you come as often as you can, and eat and drink your fill. There’s no need to book, just pop by.
Great atmosphere, excellent beer, lovely old English pub. Had Sunday lunch roast beef, excellent, pity the sweet, ice cream was so small 2 small scoops almost £7 , pretty poor value
A fabulous centre-of-town pub, with a great menu, and a wonderful attentive young front-of-house team. My wife and I popped in mid/late summers Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful roast dinner (although tempted by the burger menu). The food was hot, and did not take too long to arrive and was so nice I forgot to take a picture (sorry)! Plenty of seats in the main part of the pub, and a large seated area at the back. There is a good wine and gin menu as a reasonable selection of beer and cider, parking can be found easily in Thame, perhaps bar on market day. We will be back, and fab afternoon, was had on Dec 23..
A very tasty meal, lovely setting (could amend the lighting to dimmers), service on point it’s friendly and quick. The roast was delicious and well priced. I very much recommend this pub as a stop over if you need to pass through Oxford. A lovely Sunday lunch! Thank you
So pub 4 on our crawl down the high street in Thame and my only feedback or criticism would be the prices! A pint of ale and a 0% gin and tonic was £11 which seemed a little excessive. The food menu is extensive but felt the prices were london prices where I live rather that a town ! Dom behind the bar was lovely and really well informed. Overall nice pub all be it a little on the pricy side
Lovely food and a great selection of beers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A proper friendly pub. Highly recommended.
