WELCOME TO THE OXFORD RETREAT.
YOUR FIRST STOP IN THE CITY OF DREAMING SPIRES.
The Oxford Retreat is a historical pub located within walking distance of both the Oxford central bus station and the Oxford train station. Perched on the edge of the river, the Oxford Retreat is an early-nineteenth century building softened by Weeping Willows and flowing water on either side.
Open from 12PM daily, The Oxford Retreat serves, among other things, some of the best burgers in Oxford. Simple pub food done well!
With plug points and usb stations at every table, The Oxford Retreat is a great place to work or even hold a business meeting.
Our pub is extremely versatile. Throughout the week you will find our Private Hire room occupied by The Oxford Lindy Hoppers, a lively Salsa group, Thursday night speed dating and many other flavours of the week. Come Friday at 11PM, the pub is transformed for our weekly Reggaeton party and on Saturday nights, live music and table service with a relaxed atmosphere.

I had a tempura prawn starter which was very good. I had a lamb shank main which was below average. It came with mash and peas which were cold. It let the place down and ruined the experience.
Great pub/boozer, lovely friendly staff and great beers to match... large outside covered smoking friendly area and a real huge bonus, it is open late, last orders at 11.45pm (or might be later) so if you miss your train, its just down the road! Lovely stuff! Thank you
Attended a small.private party upstairs and it was great atmosphere. Canapés were lovely. Drinks were good. Great vegan options.
The staff was friendly. Great location, next to the river, nice garden but I'm not impressed by the food.
We had our wedding reception at The Oxford Retreat and had such an amazing time! The staff were all lovely and very helpful and helped make our special day even more special! I would definitely recommend renting upstairs for any events you may have.
