Updated... Popped in for a drink before football ended up with immense cocktails. Lovely bar man, who could switch up cocktails when certain ingredients weren't available and he also made an own recipe Tiramisu cocktail, which was DEVINE, get it added to the menu! Brilliant stop off.
The food is good here - you can get a lovely meal though you may be waiting a while. I've visited three times now. Each time I have received long wait times for food and/or issues with the order. It is a shame because the bar staff are very lovely and efficient, however it really seems like there is a communication issue with the BOH and FOH. Furthermore, the lack of table service is concerning - in my most recent visit we had been there for multiple hours and not one plate or glass was cleared up in the whole restaurant. It wasn't particularly busy either. A shame. Overall: a very nice atmosphere, and good food, tarnished by poor service. (Also the Greene King discounts were very good so it is pretty cheap for a group meal + cocktails)
Exactly as it describes itself, country pub dining. Food is good, generally well prepared, and presented. Portions are on the large side. Staff attentive but recent experience suggests forethought is required when seating walk-in customers. We've been eating here off and on for over 25 years, so we will return
We had a fabulous meal with great service. A special shoutout is due to Harry, the barman, whose humour and attentive service significantly enhanced our dining experience. His recommendations were spot-on, and his friendly demeanour made us feel right at home.
I have recently attended a function at the Outlook. The Food and service were good, unfortunately the bar downstairs did not have much on beer/lager on draft and was not stocked very well with other drinks we wanted, meaning we walked back upstairs to the main bar.
