Wonderful to have a beautiful and comfortable downstairs dining room again. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent staff. Under new management. Already made significant improvements. Felt welcomed and valued as a customer. Food was superb and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend and looking forward to returning soon.
Stayed overnight for a family celebration. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was served hot and was very delicious. Room was clean and very warm, Tv, tea and coffee, clean towels and crisp white clean sheets. Car park at back of building, just register your car registration and no parking charges to pay. We had a private room for the celebration which was brilliant and the staff were on hand if we needed them. Breakfast was hot and delicious again,good service with friendly staff. Would recommend this pub to friends. Thank you for a wonderful time and well done to all the staff.
Its been a while since I've given 5 stars but after I ate this burger an experienced the service here I felt the need too. The atmosphere was great, nice staff, attentive and polite, the young girl working behind the bar was so customer focused and knew her job. I'm not sure of her name but fair play to her. I visited today, the 13th of January 2024, at 13:00. So if that helps, I just want to further thank her for making our visit a nice one. The chef did an amazing job, the food was packed with flavour, every bite just got better, great burger. Chips clean and fresh, food hot, even after being on the table while we finished our game of pool. One thing that really impressed me was the chefs attention to detail, and washed the salad garnish before putting it into the burger because that too tasted fresh and did not have that chemical taste to it like most salads do, because most places don't wash there salad and as a retired chef this impressed me to the point I could not find one fault with the meal. All in all, It was a great way to have a birthday meal, so thank you very much, and I will be coming back for another and another.. Well done guys.
The folks at the front desk were really nice and tried to help, but the hotel itself just isn't great. I stayed there for 6 nights because I had a tech course nearby. The first room they gave me was so bad, it basically needs burned down, I don't even want to talk about it. Luckily, they moved me to another room, which was a bit better, but still not great. You'd think a double room would be bigger than a single, but it was really small, and the floors were all crooked. The heating had levels to be set to, but in reality all that was possible is either on or off, so I kept waking up all night either sweating to switch it off or freezing to switch it on. The room ceiling and ceiling lights were covered in dusty spider webs, like no one had cleaned it in ages. The bathroom air duct was all clogged up with dust and not working, so the room got all steamy and damp. Dust and damp made my asthma act up, which wasn't fun at all. The only good thing was that the bathroom seemed clean, no mould or anything. So maybe recently renewed. What's weird is that this hotel doesn't have many bad reviews, and it costs as much as this well-known chain hotel that's a 20-minute walk away. I thought it would be a good place because of the price, but it was one of the worst places I've ever stayed. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.
We had a lovely 2 day break here. The people, food and service was excellent. A bit disappointed there was no fan in the room as it was very hot, so we had to go and buy one. Also upset that we booked an evening meal and did not get 20% discount. Other than that would thoroughly recommend people to visit. Good value for money ❤️
