Tikka connoisseur

The Orange Tree - Wolverhampton After a fellow group member was given a recommendation we opted to try the Orange tree. “Blows the lot out the water” is what was said. We arrived to a very clean and quite snug environment. Its not the biggest of places so i can see it being really busy on weekends. We were quickly shown to a table and due to the 4 of us ordering a fair amount we were then given an extra table to compensate the large order. A member of staff also fixed the table as it had a bit of a wobble. Plenty of tvs available to watch with the football on which is always a bonus. Large mixed grill - chicken tikka was to die for. Very well cooked and juicy. This could be up there with the best. The lamb chops felt tough to cut but they actually melted in your mouth to our surprises. Sheesh kebab was abit of a let down. Not much flavour to it and a rather small portion. Fish pakora was bang on. Very fresh and crispy batter with a fluffy middle. Chicken wings were ok. Nothing wrong with them but nothing special either. Chilli chips - these failed if im honest. Plenty of sauce and chilli taste but very soggy and did seem to be abit under cooked. Massala sauce - again nothing stood out with this. Just a very basic massala sauce. Keema naan - plenty of meat inside but was a tad greasy for me. Overall not a bad experience. It certainly doesnt ‘blow the rest out of the water’ id put it mid table in the venues that have been visited. I will say that the customer service from the staff is up there with the best we have received. From being welcomed to our table to being given the doggy bags to take home. The lads really did make the effort. Overall score id give it 7/10 i would return but maybe not in a rush

Went to the orange tree for a family dinner-it was superb, highly highly recommended! The venue looked freshly refurbed, it was super stylish, the staff very attentive and efficient-nothing was too much trouble. Drink choices were plentiful. The chicken tikka and chicken wings were our favourite and very flavour able. The pakora and sheekh kebabs also very good and decent portions. Sauces came in bottles which was ideal for us as we didn’t have to keep requesting more! (As is the case in some restaurants) Huge choice of main courses to suit all. We had curry as well as chilli chicken and noodles. Made fresh to order with fresh ingredients, peppers that still held the crunch. Only negative would be parking. But Overall a very enjoyable experience-we will be back!

Great mixed grill. Chicken and lamb jalfrezi was good. Big naans and chili chips were fantastic. Definitely will be back and would recommend!

This was our first visit here...very nicely decorated and pleasant bar staff. We did not book a table but staff were accommodating, happy to give us a table but asked if we could vacate at a certain time which was fine. Food was lovely chicken tikka massla and lamb madras, nann bread, chips. Would visit again.

I visited the orange tree because of word of mouth and it did not disappoint. I live in Bridgnorth and good Indian restaurants are hard to come by. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The ambience of the establishment was also great. Highly recommended.
