About us

We grow our own and source local and seasonal produce. At this time of the year, with winter at its height, we have a wonderful selection of winter roots from our kitchen garden and the Lincolnshire Wolds, as well as herbs and salad from our polytunnel, and foraged herbs & berries from the surrounding hedgerows, woodlands and fields. We also have a superb selection of meat from local farms and speciality butchers, and game from local estates, not to mention great cheeses, milk and yoghurt from local dairies in the Vale of Belvoir, including Cropwell Bishop and Sparkenhoe Red Leicester.

We're also cooking with superb shellfish from Norfolk and the Yorkshire coast; seabream, turbot & monkfish from ports in Devon and Cornwall; and wonderful deep-water white fish – hake, cod and turbot from Newhaven – delivered to our door every morning.

We make regular trips to local farms, and Billingsgate and New Covent Garden markets, to find other seasonal ingredients, which often appear as specials alongside our other menus.

I've enjoyed meals here on three separate occasions and each has been wonderful. First, a private party in the barn where the billiards table was as much a hit as the food, which was delicious and served in good time for the whole party to enjoy together (Pan seared king scallops / Beef Wellington, truffle potato gratin and summer vegetables / some delicious chocolatey dessert). We visited again the following December for a Christmas get-together and the seasonal menu was just as delicious - with melt-in-the-mouth venison. On our last visit my partner and I had the burger, as we wanted something simple. We were delayed by traffic on the A1 but the staff were great, letting us know what was still available so we could order before the kitchen closed for a break and still have a delicious meal. It was lovely, fresh and juicy and the fries and onion rings hot and crispy until the end (sorry, no photo). Really, really nice. And cannot wait to go back.

They have a good variety of dishes on the menu with a lot of locally sourced ingredients. The staff are the right balance between discreet and attentive, and are very friendly and helpful. The ambience is great and so is the location. Nothing to complain about here!!

The rustic ambiance and delicious food was elevated by the exceptional service provided by Andrew and the team. Their attentiveness and warm demeanor enhanced the overall enjoyment of our visit, making it a truly memorable dining experience. We highly recommend both the exquisite dishes and the outstanding service at the olive branch, we will certainly be returning!

My partner and I stopped here for dinner whilst driving down to London after having read some of the positive reviews. We were not disappointed! The menu was an inventive take on some classic British pub dishes, to start we opted for a homemade black pudding and cured salmon, both were very well presented and the salmon especially was exquisite. For the mains we had halibut with a bean and pork casserole and a slow cooked beef rib. Both were cooked to perfection and came with an assortment of delicious vegetables and sauces. The service was excellent, the staff were knowledgeable of the menu and were not rushed which allowed us to enjoy a relaxing meal.

Truly wonderful! - service, food, care and attention from start to finish. We had a family celebration in the perfect private dining room. Such warm, friendly service, and the food was exquisite. We stayed in Beech House just over the road & slept well & deeply in the comfortable, quiet room, followed by a tip top breakfast & lovely bimble around the village before heading off. It's a shame we don't live nearer - this was a true gem of a discovery & we hope to return! Thank you to all at The Olive Branch!
