Wonderful stay, huge clean bed for a great price - There was live jazz on in the hotel the night we stayed and it was excellent. We would definitely stay here again. The only downside, the bathroom had some mould around the bath but this wasn’t the end of the world for us. Thanks again for a great stay!
We had lunch here on Christmas Day. It was excellent. The service was excellent as was the food. We ordered different meals and all were very well cooked and tasty and the portions were more than ample. It is the best “pub” Christmas meal we have had in a long time and we will certainly be looking at booking for next year.
Booked in here for 1 night stay while in the area. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Room acceptable but some things need attention. No heating via radiators OR towel rail in bathroom. Quite thin duvet so felt a bit chilled. Nice large TV on wall opposite bed and great free WiFi. Walls quite thin so noisy from other rooms til quite late on. Had meal …. Wish I hadn’t …. Doubled up the chips for £1.25 as on menu but god help if I had not …. Would have got about half a dozen ! And the egg/tomato/pineapple (see photos) covered in ‘dregs’ from previous cooking I assume ….chef should NOT have presented it like that. Also, ordered sponge and icecream …. Came as sponge and custard (not much either for the cost). Large kingsize bed and spacious room. VERY noisy in the bar/dining areas. Overall will not be staying there if again in the area. Pay a bit more and get somewhere better ! SORRY Ye Olde House as staff were friendly.
Good Accommodation I have been using The Olde House for a number of years for accommodation when I am in the area. I was greeted by Paul who was really helpful and welcominng. There is a small car park near the accommodation building however the main customer car park is really big so plenty of parking. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet, breakfast was quick and very good. Another pleasent stay.
We got married here on Saturday 5th August 2023 and had the best day of our lives! Highly recommended for any couple searching for the right place to tie the knot! We had our whole wedding day here, starting with our ceremony in The Needham Room followed by our reception in The Mullen Suite. The whole day was very well organised and everything went to plan as we imagined. The food was amazing, we chose to have the hot cobs buffet for our main wedding meal (they also have the option to have a 2/3 course meal too) and it did not disappoint - extremely good value for money and included a large selection of food and high quality meat for our guests. We heard nothing but compliments from our guests about how amazing the food was. For our evening guests we chose to have the cold buffet, which again was amazing quality and value for money. We can't thank everyone enough at The Olde House for the exceptional service you gave us on our big day. Especially to Julie (manager) and Tracy (events manager) for everything you did for us such as calming our nerves before the ceremony and making sure everything was perfect for us - you were truly incredible. We highly recommend The Olde House for your wedding day, it is very affordable compared to most wedding venues and offers exceptional service - they make your wedding day exactly how you want it to be! Thank you again for making our day so special!
