I was born in Greenview Street in the 1940s and when I was older I drank in the Old Stag Inn, but I always thought that it was in Pollokshaws not Shawlands? Not that I have anything against Shawlands.
Great place to drink very quiet and staff are lovely and friendly very polite it's a place that's vert much out the way you would only drink here if you live near by the area I think but I really think as an outsider that I got the impression that it's a pub for all the local guys who live in the area 🤔 although I could be wrong 🤫 anyway it's staff are very nice and accommodating I'll give 4 ☆☆☆☆ be lucky people 😀
Interesting but I have enjoyed my friends as I have got to know them. Go there and enjoy the atmosphere of a wee family owned pub
Old Stag Inn 12 Greenview St, Shawlands, Glasgow G43 1SN, United Kingdom My mother, who grew up right across the street on Riverford Rd., always told stories of her mother having to send her to fetch her father home for supper from this wee pub, (my maternal grandfather, Papa Joe Connolly’s favorite tavern hangout, circa 1920’s-1940’s). My wife and I visited Scotland for the first time in August 2022. We met Brian, the proprietor, and several of the regulars, and had a great time visiting with them… very friendly people!
