Nice little pub and nice atmosphere
Great night but the pubs starting to look a little tired.
This was my local but I've gotten really fed up by a few things. First, last orders are about 10.30. Staff (who I suspect are only paid until 11.00 pm) are eager to get you out - and quickly. They'll pour you a pint at 10.25 and expect you to be off the premises by 10.35 (at latest) so they can be ready to lock up and go before they're working for free. "Get Out!" tactics include (1) switching the heating off at about 9.00 pm. (2) spraying the foul-smelling disinfectant. At first, the disinfectant was just being sprayed on the adjacent tables, and we were only subjected to the smell. On Thursday 23rd. November, the staff member sprayed the table we were sitting at, my partners drink and my partner (and this was at about 10.30 pm.). We don't need any other hints that we're not welcome. I like the owners and I'm glad that they can do without my (circa) £80 a week (plus functions that we've held there). Mick Hill. Scores: staff 5*. Great before 10 p.m. Food - couldn't comment. Atmosphere: pre 10 pm, +5*. Post 10 pm, -5*.
Great pub. Friendly staff.
Brilliant and proper bar ... used tonight as our party venue as I love it so much day to day ..... if you want a proper boozer with no idiots etc your welcome
