Was OK for the night I stayed. Staff helpful. Food good. The room was clean but needed refurbishment, particularly the shower room. The hotel in general needs touching up. Parking.
Got married 24 years ago and stayed here the night after, lovely place...don't think anything has been maintained since our return last night. No heating, hole in glass window, dead flies on window sills and carpet, no handle on one of the french window/ door, no vacuuming had been done since previous guest left, hair in shower waste hole, mould on shower sealant,used towels left in our room, poor lighting, cups in room tea stained, for 130.00 a night, we felt it would be worth 30.00 at most. Breakfast was nice, lovely trickle of water going to a bucket from the conservatory roof accompanied it. Shame it could be a great hotel with some care and attention. Won't be back.
Stayed here recently as part of a weekend away. Room was lovely, clean and tidy with working jacuzzi bath and i slept brilliantly with no noise heard from other guests. Evening meal tasted amazing (the lamb), maybe my greedy tummy might have wanted a little more but I came away satisfied and all was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was again lovely (full welsh) but if I'm honest not as good as I expected after the evening meal experience. However that being said I still enjoyed the breakfast and had plenty of choice. Great location and yes I would stay again.
We got married at The Old Rectory Hotel in August 2023 and cannot recommend it enough. The staff were so accommodating, helpful and just generally great to have around on such a special day. The venue itself is fantastic and food was great. I still have wedding guests talking about the leek and potato soup!
My Mum and I came for a Sunday Roast today. We decided to both have the Lamb. Unfortunately, the lamb was pretty inedible so we had to complain. Upon another plate of lamb coming out for my Mum, she had to send it back again. Her beef replacement, although far better was not worth £19. My replacement of a pan-fried Chicken breast was rather good. However, the vegetables were also not particularly appetising. Although the Yorkshire puddings were rather tasty but could have been a little fresher. The service was very good, and the server could not have been more helpful with our requests. Would we return? No.
