Very friendly nice surroundings and fire. The Sunday lunch was to die for! I have never had as much roast beef on my plate that melted in my mouth and with the Horseradish sauce it was divine. No Guinness, but the Real Stout was an excellent alternative. Cannot wait to go back!!! Ten out of ten!
Nice inn in the heart of Ashover which serves a wide variety of great food. The drink selection is good and the choice of music is upbeat. The staff members here are nice and they also help accommodate anybody who visits.
We had a very tasty Sunday roast followed by delish desserts. Friendly service and a good atmosphere in the pub.
I've never left a review before, but after eating here this afternoon, I have to warn people about the worst pizza I've ever had. The base was clearly shop bought and was burned, they used cheddar instead of mozzarella which made it incredibly greasy and sour. When we said something to the staff member, she didn't seem to care. I only ate a slice and a half and I can't get that sour taste out of my mouth.
We had a great meal here, the service was really quick and they could not have been friendlier. I had the battered halloumi which was amazing! The pie was a real pie not a bowl of stew with a pastry top and the gravy came in its own little jug. We also bought beer to take away and it was much cheap than we had seen in local tourist shops. There is parking behind or up the street opposite.
