Been a few years but what sets this place out from the rest is the quality of the steaks , locally reared sources beef absolutely spot on and cooked very well . To start the pea and ham soup actually full of ham not like other local places I have reviewed ! Steaks amazing sides spot on as nd the Argentinian Malbec amazing . We will be back roaring log fires 🔥 on a rainy cold Christmas Eve afternoon simply perfection

I came to The Old Original on Thursday for a meal with my new fella James. Although James is a chef at The Old Original, I was really impressed with all the staff, that we was still treated with the same service as customers. The food was lovely I had the battered mushrooms with alioli and Lasagne which was probably one if the best Lasagne's I have tasted I could taste the different layers rather than it being mixed together. All the staff was very welcoming and friendly.
Fantastic food. From unique specials to classic sunday dinners. Always somewhere for a nice occasion with the family. Staff, service, food, atmosphere - all great. Prices are good. Highly recommend. And in a lovely location.
Popped in on our way back to Manchester. Probably my first ever visit but we used to regularly visit this area 40+ years ago. Very much focussed on food on this Sunday lunch but no problem getting drinks. Jorvic going for J.W.Lees bitter, very good. Oddly no cider on tap, only bottled. We all liked the look of the pub and food menu so hope to book and return for a meal. Parking is tight so you may need to walk 50 to 100 yards. We were there from about 2.30 pm for 40 mins. Possibly a lull between early and later eaters; seemed to be filling as we left. Small front patio for the odd sunny day. Good views. Historic list of previous Landlords. No Flat Erics though.
