I used to go to this pub on a regular basis, as it was at the end of my parents road, so was convenient while I was growing up in the area. Hadn't been back there for years. My has it changed but unfortunately for the worse. Most pubs have a refurb every few years. This one looks like it never has. It's like time has stood still for this place. Very outdated decor and needs vast improvement to attract more customers. I can't imagine what the hygiene rating would be if it served food. I think it doubles up as a hotel too. When I went there were only 3 of us. It's nice if you want a "very quiet" and cheap drink but that's about it really. The Guinness we ordered was off however, the bar man did exchange it for another drink after we had complained. I would not go there again.
Worst hygiene, bed bugs, brothel downstairs, staff are drunk throughout their whole shift so there’s no communication there, loud music coming from pub downstairs, has about three cats that live in the hall way, worst smell coming from kitchen and shared bathrooms! By far the worst place I’ve ever stayed in my life and I’ve traveled the world and seen some obscene hotels! Disgusted
Stay away! Honestly worst place I have ever been. No care at all to the place it stunk Pubic hair all over bed. I’m not a fussy person at all but hand on heat I would not let my kennelled dogs stay there!!
WARNING!! DO NOT ENTER - should be condemned. These pictures were all taken before anyone even used the bathroom. We tried to clean the toilet but the bottle of bleach was empty and I don’t know why because it certainly hasn’t been used in the toilet bowl. We randomly had 2 kettles with no cups or tea and coffee, the room was dusty, I didn’t find them until the morning but the mattress had bed bugs and blood stains on it 🤮. The bathroom door wouldn’t even close let alone lock, not that I’d want to be in that room when the door was closed anyway, there was no bathroom towels to even wipe your hands, let alone dry yourself if someone were too brave the shower. The toilet paper was placed in the corner of the bathroom floor as there was no holder. We had no real issues with the staff but there was no customer service at all. Surprisingly we would not be revisiting.
