Just tried The Old Market Hall in Mexborough with my wife and daughter for an evening meal, and I have to say what a brilliant place this is. The staff were all very friendly especially the lady at the bar who served me and let my wife have a quick taste of one of their many ales before ordering (sorry I didn't get her name but she was a real gem). The meals were all excellent and fantastic value for money and included an alcoholic or none alcoholic drink with each meal which for all 3 of us cost £29.70. We were sat at table 28 which was a nice spot to sit in with plenty of light from the windows and plenty of space (something you don't get in a lot of pubs). The decor of the pub was nice with pictures of the past all dotted around, the meal sizes were spot on and we didn't feel over or underwhelmed by them (just right). The staff were constantly busy cleaning up and we found it very clean and tidy which was a real credit to all the staff. So will we be coming back ? Yes we absolutely loved it there. Well recommend and perfect for those who just want to soak up a great atmosphere.
I enjoyed a vegetarian breakfast that was presented well except for the overcooked fried eggs. Pleasant service and a short wait. I had a pint of Farmers Blonde recommended by the friendly female bartender. Nicely decorated and clean throughout.
It is what it says on the tin! Called in for a good slurp while accidently in Mexborough. Cheap as chips, a good pint, some nice grazing tackle, quick service via the app. No bother at all. Smashing
Breakfasts getting worse, only learned today that bacon is bought in precooked then reheated.....no wonder it looks so pale and unappetising. Food nearly cold and one persons food left to go cold on the table even though we were still getting coffees. Last visit I think
Great food and drink. Most of the customers were locals which means it's great for the money.
