WE’RE A TRADITIONAL PUB IN CENTRAL PENLLAGAER NEAR THE M4. BEING THE ONLY PUB IN PENLLERGAER WE REALLY ARE THE HEART OF THE COMMUNITY.
I had the ultimate veggie burger, which was really very nice. It came with a large plate of fries. I was a bit jealous of the others with me because they got chunky chips and they were really nice. My fries were rock hard. With no exaggeration, I can say it felt like I was eating twigs. Very tasty twigs mind you, but they hurt. The inside of my mouth was battered at the end of the meal. The tasty burger, which didn't try to be like meat, made up for the chips. A reasonable price, very quick service and overall lovely food. I will go back soon and would happily order the same. I would just be careful to ask them not to make the fries so crunchy that it hurts to eat them.
I always chose the Old Inn to meet up with friends for food and a drink. It's always got a cosy feel and staff are always friendly. The young lady that served us yesterday was particularly friendly and pleasant. The food is always very nice also and the portions are decent. Will definitely keep going back to the Old Inn to meet up with friends for food.
The pub was easy to find with plenty of parking space. The overall appearance welcoming and spacious. Service was ok, it did feel like it was a chore to the some of the staff when serving us and taking orders. Whilst I understand that it is difficult to be up beat all the time, it does add to customer satisfaction to feel welcomed
Went there for an afternoon lunch. Found the food to be plentiful and tasty and at a good reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Tasty food, massive portion sizes - look how many chips there are! Really friendly, nice cosy local pub atmosphere
