Recently moved into the area tried a few establishments and settled on the best! Fabulous staff who remembered myself and daughters from our first visit. Always made to feel welcome and the food is delicious! Varied choices in a warm comfortable pub 😄
We booked to come here after the funeral to hold our mother's wake. We chose here because of the easy, disabled friendly access & the amount of parkìng space. Alan gave us the choice of booking per head or by choosing a specific amount of money we wished to spend. As we said that we just wanted to offer friends & relatives a place to come & chat, have a cuppa, a light bite to eat, in a comfortable & friendly place, we would choose to pay a specific amount. Alan didn't want a deposit or the money up front, which I would have gladly paid. We couldn't have been happier with the amount, quality, & choice of food, the service, or the friendliest people & atmosphere. Thank you, Alan & all your staff, who made our difficult day much more bearable. We will definitely be coming back here again.
Not a very good experience if I'm honest. Mixed grill wasn't available as there were no steaks. Asked for the ultimate burger instead, but no pulled pork, so had to have, I think it was the cowboy burger can't remember now, but it was 2 burger patties, with cheese, bacon and salad. Asked for salad in place of chips. My friend had the pie and chips. Did come in a timely manner, polite staff, etc. Unfortunately, the burger was extremely bland and tasted like grease. My friend said she didn't enjoy hers either. I was starving so I ate the meat and salad. Sorry to say this experience means I won't be returning, or recommending. When we entered and informed staff we would be ordering food, we should have been made aware of the lack of items on the menu, we would then have gone elsewhere at that point and not ordered drinks.
Last week, we came in for a meal, for the first time in years. Was really pleased we did. The gammon/sweet potato fries and the fish and chips were delicious!, So, we returned again today. (Here still). I had the gammon, for a 2nd time, and hubby had the hunters chicken. Lovely! About to order dessert. Will definitely return!
Popped in for a refreshment as hadn't been here for a while and at about 1pm the place was dead and staff none existent. If I'm honest the place could do with a lick of paint and tidying of seats as dirty in places and seating areas ripped. Would I recommend? I'm not sure yet this place is in a prime location and will do great under the right management. If I'm honest I wouldn't eat eat there as it just don't seem clean enough or enough staff to sort things.
