About us

On behalf of Lou, Ed and all the team we would like to invite you to have a look around our website and to join us here at the pub.

The Old Glen House is a welcoming country pub situated on the idyllic Baildon Moor only minutes from the Shipley glen tramway, serving a range of cask beers, wines and home cooked food.

With the wood-burning stove roaring away in the winter and the vast beer garden open on the summer days it is the perfect venue all year around.

Whether you call in after a walk (with or without a dog), a cycle ride or as a diner or drinker you can always be assured of a warm welcome.

My friends and I visited the Old Glen House the first night I arrived in Leeds (I live in the US). The steak and ale pie was amazing, as was the apple/rhubarb dessert!!! (Truly the best beef pie I've ever had). We then travelled all the way to the Scottish Highlands for a week, eating at pubs and restaurants along the way. Out of our entire trip, The Old Glen House was the best food and had our favorite employees. They made us feel welcome in their home. I highly recommend the pies as well as the chicken burgers (My friend said it was the best he's ever eaten). Go to the Old Glen House! And while you're there, stroll down to the Old Glen in the woods just behind it. It's beautiful.

Sunday lunch is a family oriented and dog friendly experience, although it's time they reopened their car park to customers instead of just the staff. This causes on street parking issues at busy times which I'm sure the local residents are not happy about. A well kept pint of hand pulled Saltaire beer and half an Amstel lager was £6.05, a Yorkshire pudding starter with gravy £4.50 and a Sunday lunch main roast of the day £12.95.

Stopped for lunch on our walk from Ilkley to Saltaire. Dog friendly pub with excellent home cooked food - the pie was incredible.

Lovely pub, good food. Only reason it's got 4 stars and not 5 is it's dog friendly which I know some people will like, I just prefer places that aren't, but it wouldn't put me off a future visit.
