The Old Farmhouse has existed in Middleton St. George for over 250 years, though it surprisingly did not begin life as a farmhouse. Originally, the building was used as an inn called The Wheatsheaf, before being converted into a farmhouse by a retired sea captain. In the 1950's the building was left empty, before being converted back into a pub in the early 1980's.
A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

Went for lovely lunch on Tuesday 9th Jan with sister & parents to celebrate their birthdays. Food was gorgeous. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Such a cold day but the lovely log fire was on. Dog friendly too which was nice to see some well behaved doggies too.
I had a really nice lunch with my wife and dog at The Old Farmhouse. We found this place after searching for Dog Friendly places nearby. Not only was our dog welcomed but he was also given a bowl of water and they have a menu especially for dogs. My wife had the turkey dinner and I had the pork, both from the festive menu. The restaurant is well laid out, service and food was great, decent portions, and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return if I am passing in future.
I made a large booking for a works Christmas lunch, everything about the process of speaking to a staff member to book a table, emailing food choices and even amending some, was handled with such friendliness and professionalism. The food arrived promptly and was absolutely amazing. Everyone was extremely happy with the quality of their food, all dishes cooked to perfection. All staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
Great, extremely friendly, attentive and entertaining staff, lovely christmas atmosphere and amazing food. Definitely will be coming back!
Great welcome , Sat us at our table and we ordered some coffees while waiting for lunch to start. Perused menus and the staff kindly advised us as we wanted lighter options. Soup lovely and fresh and chips were fab. Nice drinks and good dessert options too. Overall great value and we were able not to have to rush. Only slight observation was that I had to go over to the bar to order . Only other slight thing too was that a work party group were sat on a table near to us and we just wanted a quieter time. They were fine, but I think a little thought about seating groups together. But minor really. Thanks for a lovely lunch.
