Absolute shambles service. Booked in advance for a birthday and specifically asked for tables together to accommodate our party of nine, away from the children's party seating and toilets. Get there to find the tables we had requested had been given to other patrons. Upon asking staff we were told yes it clearly says on their system these tables were reserved to us but a member of staff had seated others there anyway and the only place they could seat us was in the children's party area. We took our custom elsewhere.
We took all the family for Christmas Day. We were pleased with the service. Staff were pleasant and efficient, nothing too much trouble; very attentive. We enjoyed the food; the main course carvery servings were generous. The starters and desserts were lovely. A good effort from our local eatery, and we are pleased to have supported them. The experience has been good value- for- money. No complaints at all, and a big thank you to all the staff; we thoroughly enjoyed it. We will go there in future for our Christmas Day meal! Great meal but a little bit flustered at midday for the first order it seemed… food took an okay time to come and was really nice. The offer itself meant that the 2 for 10.99 was reasonable since we were a group of four plus could add on for a small amount extra. Great atmosphere and lovely place to eat and have a drink. Great selection of other drinks and a good array of food not just on the offers menu too. For non alcoholic beverages there were a selection of mock tails or refillable diet / low sugar drinks available too.
If I could have left zero stars I would have!!! Waited 10mins to be seated with several staff that walked past and didn’t even acknowledge us!! Finally seated & waited 40mins for my ‘WINNER WINNER chicken dinner’ !!!! I literally have no words for the state of what was put down in front of me! The grilled ‘Chicken’ (even tho it states roasted chicken) would most definitely been able to be bounced off the wall, potatoes was raw inside, carrots was definitely from yesterdays carvery left overs and they was cold! Absolutely appalling that you could serve this to a paying customer. I politely ask for it to be removed and requested I wanted my money back and the manager said she couldn’t argue with me on my decision as it looked absolutely terrible and she said she hates having to serve the ‘winner winner chicken dinner’ & it’s all grilled and everyone complains about it!! Beyond words honestly! ❌❌❌AVOID ❌❌❌
There was not a lot of chicken meals and pies available on the menu as it was taken off. Massive list of menu changes by the till. The place was understaffed, and we were informed that they had sent staff home early in the day due to the place not being busy. The staff have been rushed off their feet, and management evidently stressed. The kids' food was excellent for what we paid £5.99 for three courses, and the kids had fantastic portions . The chicken wings was also value for money and tastes great. Puddings took forever to come however, kids again had loads of ice cream and adults enjoyed their jam rolls polly and ice cream Sundae. They have a play placed £4.99 per child, which is ridiculous. The play place should be free to all paying customers.
