Delicious fresh food, plentiful and well priced. Service was grand, 4* for atmosphere because I was a little cold but that could just be me. It was roomy and overall we were pleasantly surprised. We'll be back for sure.

Last minute booking for New Year's Eve and the food was fantastic. Ordered nachos for one and the Oily's combo for one for starters (was so hungry I forgot to take photos). For mains we had the stilton burger and the chicken jalfrezi for mains. Both were really generous and really tasty. For desert it had to be lemon meringue pie and sticky toffee pudding. The service was first class and all the staff were really obliging and friendly. It's been a while since we were last here, but based on our meal we'll definitely be back soon. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Went with a group for Christmas meal. Vegan option was not good. Watery, flavourless soup with a slice of cheap white bread. Vegan "tart" was small, unimaginative and served with vegetables not cooked properly and no sauce or gravy! Won't be back! Poor value for money 👎 Not enough staff on duty to deal with the large number of people having meals, leading to long wait times between courses. Staff did their best and were good.

My first visit to Oily's was impressive. Staff were friendly enough. It was busy but not overwhelming. The food was good.... just looked like some of it had sat on the foodwarmer a little longer than desirable. But, it was a short notice, 1pm booking on a Thursday afternoon. So, that's not a huge criticism. Will I go there again? Absolutely yes.

Nice experience but way overpriced… We visited at 5:30pm on Thursday and it was surprisingly quite busy, luckily we’d booked a table. The menu itself is brilliant, a good choice of classic pub dishes along with some more extravagant meals (such as beef wellington) so there’s something to suit everyone. I will say that the menu on the website is well out of date, the prices are a lot higher now than they show on the website… My partner and I had two pints of Coke, these were REALLY good - delicious in fact and we could’ve easily had another. I ordered the bbq chicken topped with cheese and nachos from the specials menu and I have to say what a disappointing dish for £15.95, there was literally 7 nacho chips on top of a rather tough slab of chicken, along with a scattering of vegetables - you can see from the photo how small the portion is compared to the plate and for that price I expected a LOT better. The service was great, the tattooed lad who served us couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly - it was a bit of a surprise though when he came to our table and upped the price of my meal on the specials board from £14.95 to £15.95 as I thought the original price was already a bit steep. I’d definitely have to see some improvements in either pricing or meal quality/quantity for me to want to return.
