The Oak Inn Staplow, near Ledbury, Herefordshire is a popular and friendly freehouse situated in the heart of glorious Herefordshire countryside with four luxury en-suite B&B rooms.
This delightful, traditional country inn, dating back to the 1600’s, is located just two miles north of Ledbury, a picturesque market town close to the Malvern Hills. We have two cosy bar and eating areas with log burning stoves, flagstone floors and an abundance of oak beams and local hops. The informal rustic restaurant has an open plan kitchen with views of our chefs cooking an imaginative and varied menu seven days a week.
We are supporters of local, high quality food producers and sustainable fishing – we are passionate about our food and the provenance of our ingredients.
We have a beautiful secluded beer garden backing onto cider orchards and public footpaths
We have ample car parking.
Three real ales are always available – Wye Valley Bitter, Bathams Best and Ledbury Gold – plus one guest beer. We have been featured in the Good Beer Guide since 2009 to present.
We really are dog friendly – that means dogs are welcome to eat with you in the pub or stay in the B&B rooms. In fact, you may well see our own dogs around the pub. They came from Dog Watch UK.

Beer not good. How often do you have a real ale and think that it isn't right, but not sure so you put up with it? Meal with friends no better than ok. Bœuf bourguignon disappointing. The mix of mash potatoes and horseradish was weird and for me distasteful. My wife had a soggy pastry pie. Quite expensive food but mediocre.
Rang up to see if they’d have a table as our Air BNb lost power all day and food was spoiled. They said they’d have a table for us all night. Turned up at eight and they knew straight away who we were without asking and took us somewhere out the way with our husky. Extremely friendly, food service was fast and the food itself was incredible. Really homely enviornment , stopping to make conversation, and genuinely interested. Really cared and made a wonderful effort to us. Best restaurant / pub food I have ever had! Even the dog had ice cream and I’ve never seen him so happy and calm. Very reasonably priced cannot fault them on anything. Will definitely come back if ever in the area. I also do mystery shopping and they would have got the best result possible. Thank you to you all for ending our little trip away for my birthday on a high after a disaster at our accommodation
Have visited the Oak multiple times and have found the staff delightful, making the whole experience a pleasure. The food is lovely and especially like the Friday/Sat addition of home made pizza yummy. Back again soon
Visited here yesterday, with other half and her parents accompanied by parents fury friend. Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. I'm not one for going out for roast dinners but wow ! Decent size portion and very prompt service. Will definitely be visiting again sometime in the near future. Thank you to all who made a fantastic afternoon.
As a group of 18, we were well and truly accommodated with pleasant smiles and friendly service. Ordering was straight forward, seating was all prepared for us, and the added bonus of being able to sit in a shaded outdoor area and watch the women's final! Once everyone had placed their orders and the food started to arrive, our group fell silent - the quietest we had been all weekend! It was spectacular! The food was cooked to perfection, the condiments were provided with no hassle, the gravy was so tasty and came in cute little pots so we could pour however much we wanted. The roast potatoes!!! Wow! I would definitely go out of my way to eat here again! Thank you to the team here who helped make the end of our family trip so special!
