A pleasant, friendly, mid-terrace local, within which a central bar serves a lively public bar and smaller comfortable lounge. A rear corridor linking the two rooms also provides access to the enclosed garden.
Regular exchange of gossip and rumour gave rise to the pub being known locally as 'The Jungle' (from 'jungle telegraph'), but a welcoming board outside the front door explaining this (last noted in 2014) has disappeared!.
A great little pub on the outskirts of Burton. Friendly locals, lovely staff & good beer from Marston's brewery.
A brilliant pub. So friendly amazing garden great service . Great bar staff. Make you feel so welcome always . Always feel good wen I walk in ...
Lovely traditional pub, wide range of Soft Drinks, Spirits, Lagers and very well kept real Ales. The staff are wonderful, friendly and a joy to chat with. The pub has had New Management, Michelle and Dave, it’s immaculate, very clean, beautiful outdoor Beer Garden with a lovely seated area undercover for Smoking. Sports are shown regularly, there is also a Dart board, traditional pub games and large screen under shelter in the Garden, it really has improved in many aspects. Great local friendly customers, will use it more most definitely.
Yesterday was my 1st time in the pub and what a great afternoon. Lively fun atmosphere which appeared to be made better by a free jukebox that was controlled from behind the bar. A very welcoming pub with a fantastic beer garden at the rear. The Directors was also very good. Cannot wait to call in again at the weekend! Great snack offering and all reasonably priced.
I can’t express on how much I was impressed by Michelle Keen, manager of the Oak & Ivy. Michelle went above and beyond when I asked if it was ok to use the pub as a wake after my brothers funeral. The pub was friendly and had a lovely atmosphere. It was a beautiful day and many of us were able to sit out in the garden. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, and the food that Michelle had produced was excellent and I am sure by the conversations that I heard she would be getting some new regulars, keep up the good work Michelle.
