The place was nice and the people seemed lovely, but i paid £10 for a burger and chips and it was not worth it!! The chips weren't salted and were soggy as, basically oven chips, the burger had no sauce in it and generally was quite sad. I did takeaway so maybe its better if you eat in?
Nice pub with a good selection of beers. It is reasonably priced with lots of seating both inside and out. The food menu is traditional pub food and they have set price menu offers on during lunch and dinner which cater for budget options. I had Hunters Chicken which was tasty and filling. Would recommend as a place for meeting people or large groups. Visited recently for a retirement party and was great for catching up. The ember inns app has some good drinks offers.
Everytime I come here they use out of date Coors glasses, the attached is 5 years old, pubs should be using glasses that are upto 3 years old!! Also, the glasses are filthy & some have lipstick on. Coors taste flat, in the end I changed to another beer.
Food and service was great even during these uncertain times. The only down side was seated by the only exit door which some customers just kept open when leaving and sadly when having the dessert there was still the packaging wrapped left at the edge of the cake, would normally mention it to a member of staff but seeing as took advantage of the Eat out to Help Out offer, didn't feel like making an issue out of it.
A great atmosphere, comfortabe seating and pleasant decor. Well maintained and not overly modernised like some of the pup chains. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The many tables are well separated, and as well as spacious parts there are more intimate littler nooks too. The menu is varied, the food is tasty and great value. There's an extensive range of beers, wines and spirits at, plus teas, coffees and fruit juices, soft drinks etc. all at reasonable prices. Altogether a very pleasant experience. There is a function room available, but smaller private parties can be accomodated in the more intimate nooks of the public area. My wife and I have booked a nook for 23 people where we will celebrate with drinks and one of the three varied buffet menus offered for such functions. Looking forward to it.

The entrance alcove leads directly from street to bar. Built in the late 1800s this pub has a predominantly local clientele. Although open plan, the décor gives an appearance of two distinct bars; to the left is a wooden-floored public bar, and to the rig
