About us

The Stumble Inn is an award winning CAMRA Real Ale Pub located on the border of Nottingham and Derby, in the heart of Long Eaton.

The Stumble’s Martin & Kerry began their venture in 2009 and have transformed what was once The Wheatsheaf into a Real Ale pub and the best Little Live Music Venue in Town.

Situated right on the bus route of Skylink Nottingham – EMA, The Stumble Inn is easily accessible for all.

A little history…

The Stumble Inn was first opened in 1899, by Publican William Kilbey, originally known as The Wheatsheaf.

During the Second World War, the Wheatsheaf pub in Long Eaton acted as an unofficial local contact point for the families of servicemen posted overseas. The pub was one of very few places that actually had a telephone, and of course very few people had a telephone in their own homes in those days. Fast forward 60+ years, and The Wheatsheaf came to an end.

This is where Martin and Kerry came in and completely transformed the pub into what is now The Stumble Inn. Working around the clock to renovate the pub, Martin and Kerry have managed to make The Stumble Inn into a warming local for the residents of Long Eaton by day, and a Live Music Venue by night for bands all over the midlands now eager to perform at.

After two years of transforming the place, The Stumble Inn was presented with an award for Most Improved Pub in Erewash by CAMRA. Now serving a whole range of Real Ales from both local micro breweries and national favourites, The Stumble Inn is a watering hole for the Real Ale Enthusiast.

Take a look around our website, learn about our various sports teams, and find out which bands and artists are soon to be playing at The Stumble Inn.

We hope to see you soon and offer a warm welcome to ‘The Stumble’.

A music pub. Saw a really good live band on a Sat night. Crowd was mostly on the mature side and friendly. It gets busy with the bar and stage next to each other in this cozy pub. There's a nice pool table too. Great to see live music that was really great at a nice little pub.

Affordable pool table. Not particularly rowdy. A great place to set the mood as you can buy a drink and escape out of the sheltered beer garden. Smoking area. Fosters, Carlsberg and surely Guinness? There is a dog that lives here and the landlords are nice. Personally, I have visited here for your solo pint as well as entertaining friends. I have come across interesting folk here and everyone seems to be friendly enough.

Clean pub. Nice owners (Martin and Kerry) and staff, good beer. Great music venue. Has been greatly improved and cleaned for Covid. Great food. Very well organised. Could do with a couple more ales to choose from.

Great Friday night out listening to a brilliant ska band. Good atmosphere and fabulous service from behind the bar. Had a really fun evening out with my bestie.
