The Waterford Lodge really is in a great location, moments from the centre of town, and adjacent to the award winning Carlisle Park, an ideal location for wedding photography.
This beautiful 18th century coaching inn has masses of character and charm. The Waterford Lodge Hotel is the perfect venue to celebrate your special occasion.

Room I stayed in was big but everything here is a bit dated and in need of repair. Staff are lovely and really helpful. Downsides also include that the bed I had was very much in need of a new mattress and was very dipped in the middle. Agree with other reviews about lack of shower pressure. Noise of the non-stop road can't be helped, but do try to get a non-road room as the glazing is single so it's really quite loud. Also note that WiFi doesn't reach rooms so wasnt the best business trip choice.
Lovely location for wedding reception. Buffet food hot and cold plentiful and all delicious. Room clean and inviting. Staff I came into contact with were polite, helpful and happy.
Seemed to get a bad wrap from some reviews, I can't complain, it was clean and the hot water was there, you just have to be patient. Yes it's a wee bit tired but nowhere as bad as folks have made out. Bar closed at 11pm so there was no noise after this...
I want to highlight that this is my experience only and I hope everyone else enjoys their stay. We arrived around 8.30 and was not greeted by the happiest person - people need to remember that hospitality is exactly what the name says, you are expected to smile even when you don’t feel like. Is basic customer service. The place is clean and spacious, and seems well kept. The beds were comfortable and the bedsheets were nice and clean. The hotel is central and with access to all amenities. What I didn’t realise when I booked our stay, is how old the place is. Everything could be heard through the walls. I am a light sleeper and woke up twice panicked (this is how loud it was) when one of the rooms around me flushed their toilet. It took me hours to fall asleep because I could hear, loud and clear, someone’s TV. The bathroom door wasn’t closing either and a cold breeze circulated all night in the room, as the entrance door has quite a gap underneath. On the other side, the breakfast service was great and tasty. You can choose between a selection of fruits, yogurts, cooked breakfast and croissants. Additionally there was coffee, tea and orange juice available.
Should you be looking for a post world war 2 design room with a cold shower and staff with serious attitude issues...this is the place for you. Rooms are so dated and yes it was £70 but stay in a Premier Inn instead. Service is terrible, ask for anything you cant a rude reply. Complained about a cold shower and didn't even get an apology. The person working on the breakfast area is very rude and literally just throws the plates down at you. Morpeth is a great place to visit but avoid this place!!!
