Me and my family visited anglers today for my mums anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waitress was pleasant, attentive and helpful. The only negative comment is that it was quite cold in the pub. However that would not stop us from returning.
Excellent traditional pub. Ignore the poor reviews. I live overseas and returned to the UK for Christmas so this was a little gem of Northumberland that was very welcome to come back to. Service good. Food good. Real ales even better
Haven't been in this pub for many years . So I returned recently thinking it would be the same or maybe even better . It used to have a great and well deserved reputation . Not anymore sadly . Dreadful atmosphere . The Food is pretty awful . Vastly overpriced , and tasteless, more than likely bought in some down market supermarket then sold to an unsuspecting public as ' home made'. Look elsewhere to spend your hard earned money . There are far better pubs with far better foods and far better atmosphere close by - the Northumberland Arms at Felton say or the Cook and Barker at Newton off the A1.
We loved our stay at the Angler's Arms. A lovely pub in a quiet spot by a gorgeous river (I would love to cast a fly in there). Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Recommended without hesitation.
My husband and I recently had an overnight stay here. Our evening meal was very good and well presented and the staff who looked after us were friendly and attentive. Our room was on first floor at the front of the building. First impressions, it was clean and more than adequate for a one night stay. The chocolate brownies were a nice touch (if you like them) and they was a nice selection of tea and coffee available. They was a good breakfast menu to chose from. We had the full English breakfast with a choice of scrambled, fried or poached eggs. Toast was freshly made and they was cereal, fresh fruit juice and tea and coffee also readily available. If you are in the area we would definitely recommend a visit here. Thank you Anglers Arms ;-)
