Ordering food from the bar was a painful experience. The server told me I wouldn't not have fries if I didn't accept sweet potato fries with my burger (although menu states otherwise) then asked if I would like onion rings and I said yes as it is on the for said burger, this incurred another charge I didn't want (I had stated so before paying). Had to ask for a receipt to confirm my order then found I was charged for more items than I had ordered. This had clearly annoyed my server and they had relayed this to the kitchen as the food I received was of poor quality and smaller portions. The food came out quickly, under cooked and with no offer of condiments/salt and pepper. Was supposed to be a payday treat for a cheeky late lunch after work but now I'm just disappointed!

Great food snacks & tasty GK beer 👌 staff was very friendly too! Lovely out of town visit. Now I know where to pop in next time I'm in Northampton.

Weekends and music is good in the evenings but they increase the prices of the drinks (in secret) I know this because when I used to visit the old bank pre covid some of the bottles of drinks (VK's etc) was 2 for £6 now they are charging £5.30 for 1 bottle, surpise surpise the 2 for £6 doesn't exist anymore in the old bank even though the Greene King website clearly states this is still the case and the offer is valid across Greene King pubs nationwide in the UK, plus upon checking in the weekday they charge £4 for the same single bottle, head office should be informed about your littlle weekend scamming scheme you got going on, you're a pub in Northampton, you aren't in London so don't try to justify charging London drink prices in a town like Northampton.

This place treated my friend ridiculously tonight, would not recommend, despite the chocolate brownie being really nice 😭 Having met with a group of friends tonight for Halloween, all having travelled 1-2 hours from different parts of the country, we have been left pretty angry that they've denied entry to one of our group... for wearing JOGGERS?! 🤡 I have never experienced some sort of dress code in a Greene King. I understand if it's some fancy restaurant but not a bog standard pub like this considering its half empty anyway? Not really in a position to turn away customers 💀 I can understand if they want to keep troublesome people out of the pub but to judge somebody on their clothing when they've done absolutely nothing wrong apart from show up at the door is ridiculous, especially when the rest of our group are dressed "appropriately". If you want to kick somebody out when they've displayed poor behaviour once inside the pub however, fair enough. Ironically, two of our group who have been allowed in the pub have 2 layers of trousers on. The bottom layer? Joggers. Low and behold they're not causing a problem so honestly this rule is a joke. Sort yourselves out 🤡 *EDIT* On a night like Halloween I don't think dress code should be an issue when there's all sorts of costumes in here.

Very nice place with lots of character. We stopped for the Sunday Roast on a visit to the town and we were glad to find this gem. The food was good and there is a good selection of drinks. The sunday roast is prepared in the kitchen. We asked the beef which came with 2 pieces of sirloin. The place was very empty to be a sunday at 12.00 but for us was great because we were served quicky and we could find table. It was a pitty that the Argentinean Malbec was out of stock but the South African Merlot was good too.
