Set in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds in Huggate. The ideal place for a pint and a meal after a pleasant walk. Good atmosphere, dogs allowed in the bar. Decent beer, nice food.
Very limited Sunday menu especially for vegetarians / vegans / children. Food was ok. Difficult to get service, decided against getting desserts as couldn't get attention from anyone though they we're nice young people when they did serve. Maybe they just wanted rid of us though we'd caused no upset, just fancied getting the kids a cheeky ice cream but waited a silly amount of time. Wouldn't go again, didn't feel the need to complain to the young people serving as there was nothing they could fix about it when all was said and done. Just a few too many not very good things.
4th visit this year, twice in evening, once lunch and lastly Sunday lunch. A very good menu. Sunday lunch excellent. Every table in restaurant had Reserved signs on them. Say no more about how good this place is. We will be back.
Our experiences at the wolds inn have been nothing but outstanding and so very welcoming and warm. The two lovely young girls who work there go above and beyond to make our time there so enjoyable. The service, even down to remembering what drinks we prefer is an element within the catering industry you don't see as often these days. The food is second to none, the steak pie well it's famous for a reason, I ordered it both consecutive nights and have never tasted anything like it. A hidden little gem 💎 and we are looking forward to bringing our children back with us next time.
We ate from the 3 course Sunday menu and the food and service were both amazing. The portion sizes were very good and the quality was superb, also very reasonably priced. We booked a table in the bar area for 6 people and a dog and we can’t wait to go back.
