Called for a drink whilst the ladies in our lives visited the nearby Yorkshire Lavender attraction. Sat outside and the staff were friendly and helpful. Ordered at the bar but drinks served to out outside table. Striding Riding beer, quite bitter but a good pint Dog friendly. Took our own water but they were happy to supply more. Didn't eat but the meals looked really good and we heard complements from other customers. If in the area again I would go back and Hovingham looked a lovely village to explore
Lovely welcoming restaurant in a stunning village. The host is very friendly and attentive with all her guests. The food was very nice indeed, I had the soup starter which was lovely and the pork belly main which was stunning, the gravy was the best I'd tasted! Maybe a menu clearly stating starters and mains would help as it was written as a single list of dishes and it was hard to tell which were starters or smaller dishes. In the current climate it was just nice to get out and have a lovely meal in a pretty village Inn. We'll definitely be returning.
Friendly and charming little pub with great ambience. The bar is cosy, and the dining room has a great atmosphere. The food is absolutely out of this world. And, whether you're here for the Sunday roast or a cosy meal for two the menu never lets you down. Even if it's not usually your bag I'd recommend at least trying the Inn's own Scotch Egg - it's mind blowing.
Steak and lamb main courses were beautiful, as good as we have had for a long time. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and we had a lovely evening. 4 stars rather than 5 because the vegetarian main and the starters just felt over prices for what they were, as nice as they were.
Stopped by for a drink and we were very impressed with the new look. We are planning on booking a table for a meal soon and I'm expecting to give a 5 star review. The staff today were very pleasant and loved having our puppy and 2 girls in the bar.
