Was in for the Sunday carvery very nice meal and great service with me having mobility issues they helped me with plating up and also carried my plate over to our table as I am on walking sticks so would struggle to carry my plate great service and will be back.
Me & my wife started an 9 day holiday in York , then onto the Whitby Goth Weekend 2023. Our campervan unfortunately broke down on the first day 😞. We had booked the Carlton Lodge & phoned to ask if could arrive early to store our luggage. "Yes not a problem 👌 " We arrived to check in at the Pub. From that second we was treated brilliantly. The land lady (I assume) was exceptional, polite , professional & charming. The customers really do come first. Our lunchtime meal was fantastic & great value for money. The Carlton Lodge was a great stay over. Clean & tidy & a fabulous bed. Definitely coming back next year. Well done to the whole team at Carlton Tavern York and the Carlton Lodge. Mike & Marie
We were a table of 10 and the patrons and staff were fantastic, putting up with our "chatting". Family get together after a few years apart. We stayed in the lodge behind the hotel for 2 nights. What a hidden gem. Huge room - great bath - very hot water and a fabulous comfortable bed. The food in the Tavern is delicious. Pity only NZ Sav Blanc though😢. Well done to everyone. We'll certainly be back👏👏👏

Amazing Sunday roast carvery in York. Very good price, for around £13 you get a good selection of meats and delicious sides (which you can refill as much as you please). We have yet to find a better value for money and quality in the city.
