Warm, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay. Great food and friendly staff. If you're ever in Helmsley, we would highly recommend visit/stay. If you stay more than one night and care for the environment you can get a nice little bonus 🍻

Part of the Inn collection group. We have been here 3 times in last 7 months so ye we love it here. Dog friendly rooms (we stayed in a dog friendly superior double) availabe they are a bit dated though. Walk in deals available with an evening meal included. I enjoyed my fish and chips and my wife loved her rump steak, lovely breakfasts. Not much of a selection of ales and they a bit expensive compared to other places in the market place. The staff are polite and helpfull so well done

Went to the Black Swan for an evening meal. I've got low standards but the food we received was surprisingly bad. The 'warm heritage salad' was a big pile of cold carrots, raw kale and pickled beetroot from a jar. Just a big heap of that on a plate. The children's burger and chips was literally that, a dry burger in a dry bread bun with plain over chips. Nice! You've been warned! The interior was beautiful and the black swan was extremely dog friendly as it had a dog menu!

Visited with friends and stayed overnight in their classic rooms. £107 for B & B / Couple. Room was spacious with a very comfortable King size bed. Couldn't fault the room at all, spotlessly clean with a bath / shower, plenty of hanging space, an iron / ironing board and hairdryer provided. All staff were very welcoming and make you feel at home quickly. We ate breakfast here , I had the Eggs Florentine always a favourite for me. Eggs poached to perfection, friendly waitress brought the meals. Usual cereals toast yoghurts etc available too. Slight downside is a long walk for the fresh coffee carrying two cups and saucers, personally I prefer a cafetier but that's just my preference. Will definitely be going back in Summer to enjoy some local walks. Very pet friendly with Spaniels everywhere and all well behaved. In our opinion, a lovely hotel, love the decor and very good value in a fantastic location. Hotel seemed pretty full for a Sunday night which is a good sign.

Lovely comfortable hotel, in a great location, in the centre of everything. Pleasantly surprised with the dog friendly room, large room with king size bed, bath and shower. Went on the winter warmer and honestly don't know how they do it for the price. The food was good although more pricey than other hotels we have visited in this chain but seen as a £26 per p erson food allowance was included in the deal it was amazing. I would definitely return and recommend.
