Had a lovely 3 night stay here for my birthday. We stayed bed and breakfast which is brilliant lots of choice for all appetites and dietary needs. Our room was quite big with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious with modern fittings, the shower was small but water was always hot. The owner and staff are very welcoming friendly and helpful with menu choices. Enjoyed my stay highly recommend

Relatively large premises with additional outdoor seating. Dog friendly. TV in bar area. Handpulled cask beers were Black Sheep, Thwaites Wainwright and Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Efficient, pleasant and accommodating staff. Vegetarian options available. Menu priced competitively. I had the halloumi. When it arrived, it came on a huge plate which was absolutely crammed with chips, 3 large chunks of filling halloumi, garden peas (or an option of mushy peas), and a generous salad. Very impressed by portion, price and presentation - far exceeded a meal that I had eaten at a different establishment earlier during my stay. And not as expensive either! Very good on all fronts. Would definitely revisit. Bonus too that after a day of tramping, it is located at the top of the hill, near the big car park, so you're not trudging back up that notorious steep road again. (I don't mind that but I'd already done 7.5 miles.) Recommended.
