We are a freehold serving fresh meals every day using locally sourced produce. We are open every lunch and evening and all day Saturday and Sunday and serve Sunday lunch until the 3 meats run out. We offer a free function room for christenings, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries etc and have fantastic deals on buffets. We can cater for upto 90 people for breakfast for parties such as raceparties going racing in North Yorkshire and our renowned Sunday lunch is still only £6.50, £8.50 for 2 courses and £10 for 3.
We have a separate restaurant and a great kids menu, homemade fish goujons and chicken nuggets being the choice of most children.
We have two guest ales on at all times, at present Golden Sheep from Black Sheep brewery in Masham and Barnsley bitter from award winning Acorn Brewery in Barnsley.
Our meat is supplied by Hartley's Butchers at nearby Tholthorpe, our fish is supplied fresh from Inshore Fisheries at Redcar and our greengroceries by Blands of Ripon.
Having been here nearly two years we are renowned for serving consistenly great pub food, the Steak and Ale pie being the top seller with the fantastic fish and chips just behind. Our starter platter of spicy chicken wings, bar-b-que ribs, beer battered king prawns and onion rings is a big favourite for people wanting to share a starter rather than make a choice. To finish off the white chocolate cheesecake is a must for any dessert fan.
In our last pub we were in the good beer guide for all the 6 years, Cask Marque accredited, received two Tetley's awards and were nominated on several occasions for pub of the year/season by camra achieving the latter in the last season we were there.
To make your own mind up come visit and see for yourself, we are confident it will be worth the trip.
We are 3 minutes off the A1 and 5 minutes aff the A19 and A 168.
See you soon
