Caught it on a very busy day and was struggling for a seat. We managed to get sat down in a very small corner of a room, and just fit to the table 😅. Never the less the food was cracking and great filler plate portion sizes 😋.
Such a cosy pub, staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Comprehensive menu selection, chicken, ham & leek pie and steak & ale pies were homemade, as were the chips, together with fresh vegetables, absolutely delicious. Dog friendly too, dog biscuits supplied!
Great traditional style pub. Fantastic food and good service. A little cosy seating wise when eating. In the summer you can also sit outside. Good range of beers.
Old Peculiar Ale and other ales are excellent, so it's five stars for that only. Food isn't exactly pub food. I had liver and onions. Liver overcooked and hard and vegetables raw, including onions, they were steamed for about one minute and served. Sugar snap peas (not pub food) was worst. Don't think I'd like to try any other food after that! No stars for food, and I won't eat here again, ever, except for the excellent pork scratching.
What a great place! Food is really really good, some of the best pub food we've ever had. Menu is excellent and the standard is higher than most . We came for the day on a Wednesday in August,so it was busy . Rare sunny day so we sat outside, plenty of tables , smoking and dogs allowed. Sevice is quick ,the staff are very polite and friendly and food is top quality. We only went inside to order and as you walk in it looks small but there's actually loads of space and tables. Nothing bad to say about this place . Recommended if you're visiting Skipton
