Welcome to the Three Jolly Sailors Public House, a Grade 2 listed building and now a traditional family-friendly English pub situated 2 miles on the A171 Scarborough to Whitby Road and 300m from the popular Cinder track (former Scarborough to Whitby railway line) and close to the Cleveland Way. The building is supposed to be haunted and was used by smugglers in bygone days.
We have a large car park and Beer Garden and a popular dog friendly bar, so everyone is welcome.

We went here for my birthday meal whilst staying in Scarborough. We certainly weren't disappointed. The food was superb. I had the steak pie which was mouth wateringly gorgeous and my hubby had the 3 bean chilli which he said was the best he'd had. We were seated very near to the open fire which was great as we had a storm going on outside. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
Fabulous visit for my birthday meal last week. 12oz ribeye was amazing, best steak I've had for quite some time, real quality. Real chips made properly, far too rare but amazing to see it on this menu. Chocolate and Orange gateaux with ice cream was a super finish to a lovely evening. Can't recommend it high enough and next time I'm in the area definitely heading back. The Xmas menu looks incredible value for money. 10 stars if possible
The pub itself looks great from the outside well kept with plenty of colour and looks inviting which is why we booked for dinner. Customer service was poor , the lady behind the ramp told us our table number we then had to search the place to find it with no assistance. Found it and it had someone else’s name on the card a cancellation no one could be bothered to remove or change the card. The fella behind the ramp more courteous and polite. Ordered food and to be fair the food was excellent . The braising steak was melt in your mouth tender , lovely gravy and plentiful so 10/10 for that !! Shame no one returned to see if all was ok after dropping the food off , the vegetables had been nuked in a microwave to within an inch of their life and looked unappetising and inedible. Dessert was brought to a dirty table as no one cleared the plates which was not ideal. The gateau was packet bought in and looked and tasted more like a Jaffa cake than a gateau which was a shame because was also tasteless. All in all wasn’t a very good visit , when you pay as a guest to be dined and looked after you expect it after all without paying guests you don’t have a business !! This review is based on our experience this evening.
The food came 3 minutes after l ordered. Piping hot and delicious. The portions were Big for most people with lots of extra veg. The whole meal was worth the cost. The deserts are not for people on diets but once in a while is well worth the taste bud frenzy.
Booked in for a meal on a Saturday evening, never been before but we're with a couple who had and recommended it. It's an old fashioned pub, no fancy minimalist decor or artist, experimental food... just good, honest food and a nice, cozy interior. Food portions are large to say the least, I had a rump steak and my partner had the pie. The steak was excellent, cooked perfectly and great quality with no gristle, the pie was excellent too with fall apart beef and outstanding gravy...it was also absolutely massive. Everyone was super friendly, including the customers who I suspect are mostly regulars. Definitely worth going to for a fuss free but delicious meal.
