The Queen’s Head incorporates one of the region’s favourite and authenic Cantonese restaurants in surely one of the country’s “greenest” catering establishments!
With all the worrisome reports about the imminence of global disaster, more & more people are looking towards Green Energy, and hence are taking a keen interest at what we have done here at The Queens Head… In a nutshell, we have installed geothermic hetaing, solar panels, PIR controlled fans & lighting, low energy lights where ever possible, waste heat drying room, water saving toilet flushers, automatic taps and even the beer pumps have been converted from being CO2 powered to compressed air power!.
Lovely, cosmopolitan family restaurant. Good food, friendly staff. Always enough good food even to take home later ! Definitely worth a visit.

I've been meaning to come here for the three years we've spent time holidaying in the area. We had a special banquet for two (with yung chow fried rice as an extra), and the food was flawless in execution. It consisted of a mixed platter with ribs, seaweed, prawn toast, and a large duck spring roll, then came the main courses of duck in plum sauce, crispy beef in BBQ sauce (wonderfully crisp), chicken in black bean sauce on a cast iron griddle lab, noodles with beansprouts, and last but not least the yung chow fried rice. We rapidly found ourselves struggling to eat it all, and brought home three (!) full plastic tubs. Highly recommended !
Good food, and so much that they will offer to box up what you can't manage. Excellent staff, and a lot of them so no probs getting more drinks, getting your bill quickly, etc. Good car park.
We had an excellent meal from here whilst holidaying in the area and the service was quick and efficient. The portion sizes were more than adequate, meaning we had enough to take away for the next evening. It can be busy here for dinner service so if you are looking to sit in booking in advance recommended.
