A traditional family-run, Country Inn in the quiet village of Wensley, on the very edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Our aim is to offer friendly service and create a haven for guests to enjoy some fine ales while taking advantage of our extensive menus, all surrounded by the flagstone floor, old beams and a large fireplace that make the Inn such an enjoyable environment.
There’s such a lot to choose from: multiple CAMRA award winning ales complimenting traditional pub food, available for lunch and evening service. To answer a question we’re always asked; everyone is welcome, from families with children, walkers with muddy boots, cyclists. We even welcome well behaved dogs!.
Previously frequented and looked forward to getting a hot drink and something to eat. Thought our luck was in as only a handful of people were in the bar talking to the staff. Unfortunately our teas and hot chocolate were cool enough to drink when brought to the table!! My friend requested a jug of hot water, which didn't go down well with the girl that served us. I left over half of my hot chocolate as it tasted powdery. Due to this, we didn't stay for anything to eat.
We enjoyed the 3 horse shoes. We had an early 6pm tea for 6people. I had rump stake others had fish and chips. . Is small but had a very local atmosphere and was made welcome. Beer was excellent with old peculiar, my favourite, but only had half pint as driving. Looking at wine offering, heart sank but when discussed they had others in back which was passable so everyone was happy. Defo drop in for a pint or pub grub and you will leave happy, even with 2 teenagers!
Lovely pub, nice atmosphere and the food was very good. The steak pie was home cooked. Very good portion size with lots of vegetables, chunky chips and tasty gravy. Definitely recommend.
It was packed and busy but staff was good at staying on top when they can. Iv ordered meat fest pizza. Pizza it self was so good but the chicken was dry and rubbery is the only thing but I would definitely come back.
We popped in for lunch on Saturday and it’s a brilliant place to visit. The food was delicious, there was a good atmosphere, the staff are very attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely visit when we are back in the area again 😃
